Fish & Wildlife Ecology Our staff includes Certified Wildlife Biologists recognized for their professionalism by The Wildlife Society. We are also members and supporters of the Ecological Society of America, Society for Conservation Biology, the American Ornithologist’s Union, and the Idaho Native Plant Society. Fish and wildlife studies are often needed for a variety of management and regulatory purposes. To meet this need, our services include wildlife habitat mapping and assessment, wildlife population inventories and analyses, fish habitat mapping, fish community assessments and biomass estimates, and rare species conservation plans. Specific tasks may include aerial photo interpretation, creating GIS habitat maps in ArcGIS 9.3, breeding bird surveys, small mammal trapping, winter track surveys, vernal pool assessments, amphibian population characterizations, freshwater mussel surveys, and aquatic macro-invertebrate sampling. Our experience ranges from the tops of mountains through upland forests and wetlands down to rivers, streams, lakes, ponds, and marine environments. In addition to field surveys, we have prepared wildlife habitat management plans for clients with particular emphasis on waterfowl management plans on managed reservoirs and habitat enhancement plans for deer wintering areas. Our work takes us throughout North America, but we have particular expertise in the Northeast and the Pacific Northwest. |
