Biometry & Statistical Analysis Having trouble analyzing your data or are you unsure of what statistical tests are appropriate for your project? Perhaps you’re not sure of the difference between parametric and non-parametric statistics. And what are Bayesian statistics, anyway? Many professionals struggle with statistics and, unfortunately, many incorrectly apply statistical methods and then present the results in regulatory proceedings or in talks before professional organizations. It is also all too common to see poorly or incorrectly presented data in professional talks. Fortunately, we are among the few — out there on the edge of the bell curve — who actually enjoy statistics and what they can bring to a project. If you are struggling with your data, therefore, please feel free to get in touch. Services that we provide include organizing large data sets, discovering and illustrating trends in your data, review of your statistical analyses, statistical analysis of your data when you lack the time or expertise, and assistance with presenting data in a logical, correct, and easily interpreted fashion. Data analysis can include parametric and non-parametric approaches, data transformation where appropriate, univariate or multivariate analyses, fish biomass estimation, mark-recapture estimation, and home range analysis. We can also assist you with a wide range of population analysis techniques. The best approach, of course, is to consult a biometrician before you undertake expensive field studies. In this regard, then, we are pleased to assist you with your experimental design or we can design experiments and data collection programs based on your project questions. |
